Plot
Four kids make a mysterious discovery on their home planet that lands them lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Jude Law in the “Skeleton Crew” plus more stars from a galaxy far, far away.. The holographic circus that entertains Neal’s little brothers is the same one that entertains Chewbacca’s family in the infamous The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978).
Then came episode two: if you include the flashback and subtitles, it’s not even 25 minutes
I think the series is great so far, but there’s one issue that really bothers me: the running time. When I saw the first episode I was so happy that it was about 40 minutes long. If I get 25 minutes of the show every week, I have to catch up on what happened the week before.
As for the actors: Oh my god, they’re kids
Once you can’t really get lost in the universe, you’ve warmed up to it, it’s over. Incredibly unsatisfying! I probably won’t watch it for months and I’m trying to avoid all spoilers so I can watch it all next year.
They clearly haven’t had years of acting training
Still, the main characters are likable, the music is spot on, and the action isn’t exactly kid-friendly. After two episodes, I’m eager to see what happens next, but unfortunately, I won’t find out until next year. "One Hundred Years of Solitude" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
